Caesar Rodney Choral Department

There are a number of vocal ensembles at Caesar Rodney High School.  There are large and small ensembles offered in a multitude of genres and styles.  Students can gather some basic information from this website and should speak to Mr. McCarthy in the music office with any other questions.

These two ensembles meet the first and third Wednesdays of every month.  They are open to students enrolled in the Rider Chorale.

Womens- 1st Wed.- 5:30-6:15pm, 3rd Wed.- 6:15-7pm

Chamber- 1st Wed.- 6:15-7pm, 3rd Wed.- 5:30-6:15pm

Our Director

Keith McCarthy earned a BM in music education (1999) and a MM in choral conducting (2002) from West Virginia University. He spent two more years in Morgantown as a graduate assistant completing the course work for a DMA in choral conducting under the direction of Dr. Kathleen Shannon. He recently finished his seventh year as Director of Choirs at Caesar Rodney High School, where he directs numerous choral ensembles, assists with the marching band and recently directed his first ever musical. Mr. McCarthy studied voice with tenor, Prof. Eric DeForest and soprano Prof. Rebecca Turner and served as a soloist for the Three Rivers Choral Society in Pittsburgh, PA. He currently resides in Wyoming, Delaware with his wife of ten years Jennifer and three daughters Maggie, Ellie, and Ainsley.
